Olympic torch realy in Guangzhou

The Olympic torch relay starts in Guanghzou (广州) yesterday.

This little girl's look is so cute and she must have sat on his father's shoulder. I really want to know what she is saying when the picture is shot.

A bunch of national flags. It is my first time to think that the red five star flag really looks good. I love the warmly red very much.

A pretty, confident girl relays the torch with a thumb up gesture.

Heads, national flags and cameras. Too many people are lucky enough to witness the ceremony, however, I'm one of the unlucky people: I have to work tomorrow when the torch starts in Shenzhen (深圳). Sigh...

Although it is a valuable chance to witness the ceremony, I don't like the guy who is climbing up the tree.

Coca cola, Samsung, and Lenovo (联想) join the ceremony too. Samsung seems all right. Coca cola and Lenovo look bad.
The old lady walks ahead of the youngsters. Does she walk out for the Olympic?

Tiaofu (挑夫) of Mount Tai

As the Beijing Olympic Games approaches, maybe you are planning a trip to China. Let's see where you can go except Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an and Tibet.

Mount Tai (Chinese: 泰山; Pinyin: Tài Shān) is one of the most famous mountains in China. The Chinese character 山 means mountain and the Chinese character 泰 has a lot of positive meanings, such as peaceful and safe. Also, men can refer to their fathers-in-law as 泰山. Funny? Yeah, once your daughter marries a young handsome guy, you will be a huge mountain.

Okay, I'm not going to show you how to use this word, what I'm going to tell you is Tiaofu (挑夫) of Mount Tai.

I don't know how to translate Tiaofu (挑夫) into English. However, the Chinese character 挑 means "carry on shoulder with a pole" and 夫 means "a working man". So you may know literally what it means: people who carry goods from mountain foot to mountaintop with a shoulder pole.

The picture below shows a Tiaofu who poses with a V sign and his goods are several boxes of instant noodle.
Tiaofu is an old occupation which has existed in China for about 2000 years. Tiaofus are usually local farmers and do what their fathers had done for years.
